Hi, I’m Tod Christensen, also known as “The Life Poet.”

I’m a real estate broker, cowboy, storyteller, award-winning author, proud father of three, and friend to many. I’m also the son of two hardworking parents who both shared a love for poetry and became published poets themselves. At a very young age, they inspired me to begin putting my thoughts down on paper, and before long, those thoughts naturally took on a poetic flow.

For many years, aside from occasionally sharing with family, I kept most of my writings private. Much of my early poetry centered around the people I met, the experiences I witnessed, and the innocent emotions I felt. As time passed and I experienced both heartbreak and personal growth, I began to feel called to share more openly about the human experience — in hopes that my words might spark meaningful conversations and remind others they are not alone.

Today, my writing reflects on family, integrity, resilience, personal accountability, emotional growth, and authentic human connection. Through storytelling poetry, I hope to encourage reflection, healing, deeper conversations, and a greater appreciation for the lives and people around us.

My first book of storytelling poetry, The World According to U, was released in October 2022. It was written with the hope of sharing meaningful life lessons and encouraging conversations between readers and the people they care about most.

My newest release, American Storybook (November 2025), is a heartfelt blend of Americana nostalgia, humor, grit, reflection, and raw emotion inspired by the American West and the shared experiences that connect us all. This book resonates with men and women alike while also speaking to the hearts of teens—a group I’ve always cared deeply about through years of coaching and mentoring. I’m deeply honored that American Storybook has already received the 2026 Outstanding Literary Achievement Award from the International Impact Book Awards, along with an Honorable Mention from the LA Book Festival. In addition, many of my poems have appeared in both regional and national publications over the years.

Driven by the belief that “Words have power, and what we say really matters,” my hope is to leave a lasting and positive impact through both spoken and written words. I invite you to read, reflect, revisit the stories often, and use them in ways that bring encouragement, connection, and good into your own life—and into the lives of others.
